One Response to “May 16 BPS Boycott”

As a 1989 alum of Burgard Vocational High School, and being proud of being a product of the Buffalo School System, I refuse to participate in this boycott. I know that the system needs to be fixed, but there has got to be a better way of doing other than having our kids pay the price by missing needed education. We as parents need to help these educators educate our kids. If the school system issued next year’s curriculum over this coming summer, I guarantee that my kids would be taking an hour a day to review the materials they need to succeed. That should be the plan. Give us the tools to help the teachers help our kids. Put more of an onus on us as parents so we can share this responsibility. I have one son struggling at South Park High School, and the other excelling at the Falk School’s Performing Arts location. I blame my son partially for not being more active in getting the help that he needs, but someone from the school should be in touch with me to let me know what I can do to help. All I get is a report card 3 weeks into the next marking period. How does that help?
