BPS Plans to Turnaround Failing Schools

2 May

At last week’s school board meeting on Wednesday, April 27th, Superintendent Williams handed out hard copies to the school board of its plans to turnaround 9 failing schools and apply for $52 mil. of funding to do so. The deadline to turn these turnaround plans into the state is May 9th, which is already an extension granted to the BPS.

These plans are lackluster at best and will almost certainly be rejected by the state…which means that the district will not receive $52 million to turnaround these failing schools.

The District Parent Coordinating Council received these plans on Friday and reviewed them at a council meeting this past Sunday.

You can view each plan here.
